Philosophy & Approach

Today, the world of nutrition has become so complex. What diet should I do? Is gluten-free for me? Do I need to buy organic? Should I go vegan? Is red-meat a no-no? When working with Los Angeles native and nutritionist Meghan Lyons, she will teach you to worry less about the right or wrong answers to those questions at a macro level, and encourage you to focus on what’s right for you. Diet and nutrition do not bear a one-size-fits-all tag. Customization is critical. When you work with Meghan she will make it very clear that her goal for you is three-fold: to learn, build confidence and no longer depend on her. She aims to keep things fun and real, and at the end of it all, if she has educated and empowered you to take action and feel real results, then her job is done. Of course, she will always be just a call, text, or appointment away if you need her!

Education & Professional Experience

Meghan earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in nutrition from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and California State University Northridge, respectively. For seven years she worked in the dietary supplement industry as in-house Nutrition Specialist for a large national supplement brand. In this role she served as an educational bridge between the marketing and scientific affairs departments, and was responsible for a majority of communications to the company's consumers and clients. A large responsibility of hers included the development and dissemination of dietary supplement education through trainings to health care professionals and those in retail who had direct contact with customers in the supplement aisle. In this role she sharpened her educational skill set and came to the realization that her most cherished moments at work were when she was passing along nutritional advice to colleagues and using her background in nutrition to help others reach their goals.

Personal Life

After having her first daughter in 2012, Meghan had the opportunity to leave her corporate career and stay at home with her new little lady, Leah. Today, she chases around Leah (5.5) and Liv (3) while enjoying the flexibility of her career to weave in quality time with clients!  Between preschool drop-offs, play-dates, exercising, cooking dinner, folding laundry and all that jazz, she truly loves helping others feel their best by making the right decisions when it comes to their diet. Whether in person, on the phone, through email or via FaceTime, Meghan is ready and able to help reward your life with good health! Another little secret about Meghan is that she loves salad and their is likely no salad she hasn't tried. She loves them so much she created a separate instagram for her salads @itbeginswithgreens if you're interested in a little inspiration!
